About the Journal

Educational Inquiry is a multidisciplinary journal concerning educational issues in a broad sense. We are very much interested in all approaches rooted in the tradition of “inquiry” – those that reflectively deal with the data as well as with the authors’ own research practice. We are not confined to the tradition of quantitative or qualitative research but open to new approaches – including post qualitative research, critical qualitative studies, and broadly understood post humanistic trends.

Educational Inquiry accepts texts written in accordance with the academic tradition as well as experimental forms, such as poetic inquiry, experimental writing, dirty writing (nie spotkałam się z tym terminem- nie wiem, czy tak), etc. Along with experimental forms, we are open to essays, voices in the discussion, critical notes, new scholars’ articles, systematic reviews, and book reviews.

Educational Inquiry does not define what education is. We assume that the boundaries of this term are fluid and established within the concrete research practice. We are interested in the fluidity of what is educational and its operation outside the dominant patterns.

The main aims of Educational Inquiry are:

  • promoting reflective, critical and experimental approach in the studies focused on education,
  • inspiring discussions on vital educational problems in Poland and the world,
  • commenting educational problems and initiating critical reflection on them,
  • integrating knowledge concerning what is educational and produced in various fields: both geographical and disciplinary.

Educational Inquiry is a yearbook.

The basic version of the journal is electronic and hypermedial. It is published by Pomeranian University Press in an open-access form. We do not charge any fees. The authors are not remunerated for their publications.
